Inside Out 3 (2025) – Official Trailer Review

The mind is expanding — and so are the emotions. Pixar’s Inside Out 3 (2025) has just dropped its official trailer, and it looks like the studio is diving deeper, bolder, and more emotionally complex than ever before. Riley’s growing up… but so are the voices in her head.

Set two years after the events of Inside Out 2, Riley is now 17 and facing the pressures of her final year of high school — college decisions, shifting friendships, identity crises, and first real heartbreak. Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger, Disgust, and Fear return, but they’re no longer alone. The trailer introduces Wisdom, a calm but mysterious new emotion (voiced by Mahershala Ali), and Regret, a shadowy figure with a haunting voice (voiced by Florence Pugh), who threatens to throw Riley’s mind into disarray.

The trailer balances humor and heartbreak brilliantly. There are laugh-out-loud moments as Fear tries to navigate SAT prep, and Disgust discovers fashion anxiety. But there are also powerful, quieter moments — like Sadness gently helping Riley say goodbye to childhood dreams, or Joy realizing she can’t always be in control anymore.

Visually, the film is stunning. The Mind World has evolved — now with new realms like “Memory Lane Archives,” “The Room of What-Ifs,” and the “Imposter Syndrome Spiral.” The animation feels more mature, echoing the more adult themes the film begins to explore.

The final shot of the trailer? Riley standing alone on a rainy street, as Regret whispers, “Every choice changes who you are.” Chilling, relatable, and deeply human.

If the trailer is any sign, Inside Out 3 could be Pixar’s most emotionally resonant chapter yet — a beautifully crafted story about growing up, letting go, and learning that even the hardest feelings have something to teach us.
