Movie Review: Peter Rabbit 3 (2024)

The mischievous bunny is back for another round of chaos, laughter, and surprisingly heartfelt lessons in Peter Rabbit 3 (2024). Directed once again by Will Gluck, this third installment leans into the charm and slapstick of the earlier films while adding a fresh storyline that keeps the franchise from feeling stale.

This time, Peter (voiced by James Corden) ventures beyond the garden and into the bustling world of city life when Bea’s new children’s book tour takes the family to London. As expected, Peter’s curiosity (and troublemaking instincts) quickly spiral out of control. From runaway cab chases to a disastrous afternoon in Harrods, the movie piles on inventive set pieces that keep kids laughing and parents entertained.

Visually, the mix of CGI and live-action is sharper than ever, with the rabbits and woodland animals looking both expressive and delightfully cartoonish. The London backdrop adds a new layer of spectacle, making the film feel fresh while still keeping the cozy heart of the countryside alive.

Corden’s performance as Peter still divides audiences, but here he brings more nuance — showing growth in the character as he struggles with responsibility and self-acceptance. Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson return as Bea and Thomas, anchoring the story with warmth and wit, while a new rival in the form of a sly city fox (voiced by Taika Waititi) provides plenty of comic tension.

Like its predecessors, the humor is a mix of slapstick, cheeky fourth-wall breaks, and surprisingly clever dialogue. While some gags go on a bit too long, the pacing never drags, and the emotional beats about family and belonging land with genuine sweetness.

Verdict:
Peter Rabbit 3 (2024) may not convert those who never warmed up to the franchise, but it delivers exactly what fans want: lively animation, mischievous comedy, and a heartfelt story about growing up without losing your playful spirit.
