Taken 4: Retribution (2024)
“They took everything. Now he takes it all back.”
Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills in Taken 4: Retribution, a relentless, high-stakes action thriller that proves age has only sharpened the deadliest set of skills in cinema. Set years after the last mission, Mills is living quietly in Ireland when a coordinated attack wipes out his safe house, killing old friends and abducting his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) once again — but this time, the kidnappers aren’t after ransom… they’re after revenge.

The trail leads Mills across Europe and into the heart of Eastern Europe’s criminal underworld, where he faces Viktor Dragunov (Mads Mikkelsen), a cold, calculating ex–intelligence officer with his own personal vendetta. With Interpol on his back, and time running out, Mills must navigate double-crosses, cyber warfare, and brutal hand-to-hand combat to bring Kim home.

Director Pierre Morel returns to helm the fourth installment, grounding the action with gritty realism — every gunfight is tense, every chase raw and visceral, and every blow feels earned. The film moves at breakneck pace, from rain-soaked back alleys in Prague to a final, nerve-shredding showdown atop a moving freight train hurtling through the Carpathian Mountains.

Neeson’s performance is as steely and magnetic as ever, balancing his trademark menace with moments of vulnerability. Mikkelsen is a perfect foil — calm, ruthless, and always one step ahead. The father-daughter bond remains the heart of the film, giving every bullet fired a personal weight.

⭐ Verdict: 8.6/10 — Taken 4: Retribution is a lean, mean, and emotionally charged ride that proves Bryan Mills’ skills — and the franchise — still pack a serious punch.
