The Good Dinosaur 2 (2026) – Official Trailer Review
After nearly a decade, Pixar revisits one of its most visually stunning — and most underrated — worlds with The Good Dinosaur 2, and the official trailer suggests a sequel filled with wonder, danger, and unexpected emotion.
Set several years after the original, the trailer reintroduces us to Arlo, now a stronger and more confident young Apatosaurus who has grown into a leader among his herd. But when strange weather patterns begin to destroy the valley they call home, Arlo sets off on a quest to find a new safe land — guided only by ancient carvings and fading legends. The biggest surprise? Spot returns — older, wilder, and now leading his own human tribe. Their reunion is heartfelt and surprisingly emotional.

The trailer teases sweeping new landscapes: volcanic rivers, bioluminescent forests, and towering rock formations shaped like dinosaurs long forgotten. New characters include a sarcastic triceratops named Luna (voiced by Awkwafina) and a mysterious lone raptor known as Korr (voiced by Oscar Isaac), who may or may not be friend or foe.

Visually, Pixar continues to push the boundaries — the environments look almost photoreal, but the characters retain their expressive, stylized charm. The trailer also hints at more mature themes: migration, environmental imbalance, and finding your place in a world that constantly changes.

If The Good Dinosaur 2 lives up to this first look, Pixar may finally give Arlo and Spot the emotional legacy they always deserved. This isn’t just a second chance for the characters — it’s one for the franchise itself.
