Hotel Transylvania 5: Monster Cruise (2025) – Official Trailer Review

The monsters are back — and this time, they’re hitting the high seas. The official trailer for Hotel Transylvania 5: Monster Cruise (2025) has dropped, and it promises another round of spooky-silly chaos, heartwarming family vibes, and colorful animation that keeps the beloved franchise afloat.

Set shortly after the events of Transformania, the fifth installment sees Dracula (voiced once again by Brian Hull, stepping in for Adam Sandler) struggling with retirement life — until Mavis (Selena Gomez) surprises the whole gang with an all-expenses-paid monster cruise to the Bermuda Triangle. Of course, nothing goes as planned. When the cruise ship is hijacked by a legendary sea kraken (voiced hilariously by Taika Waititi), the monsters must team up with ghost pirates, underwater mer-monsters, and even a misunderstood swamp beast to save their vacation — and maybe the world.

The trailer is packed with slapstick comedy, fast-paced action, and plenty of classic Hotel Transylvania energy. Johnny (Andy Samberg) brings his usual goofy charm, Wayne the werewolf gets seasick, and Blobby… well, turns into a floatation device.

Visually, the film looks vibrant and imaginative, with coral-covered shipwrecks, glowing sea caverns, and a musical number performed entirely by sea witches. There are also emotional beats, as Drac wrestles with letting go of his overprotective nature and embracing a more relaxed life — though not too relaxed, with krakens on the loose.

One standout line from the trailer: “I just wanted a vacation… not a tentacle invasion!”

If this trailer is any sign, Hotel Transylvania 5: Monster Cruise is sticking to its winning formula — laughs for kids, nods for adults, and a whole lot of monstrous fun. All aboard for another spooky, splashy ride!
